BOON REQUESTS
Hey fairybroskis! You know what time it is? Boon time!
Requests are up, which means the fairies and imps are out and about bothering people from their respective factions to note down the number one item on their wishlist again!
Wherever Shardbearer characters are in the Drabwurld, at some point today they will be approached by fairies or imps, depending on their alignment, bearing a piece of parchment and a quill. They will urge your character to write down a request for an item, power or favour from their monarchs in exchange for fighting or supporting their faction and they will take it away through a fairy-ring when it is written. There are three easy rules your character will be informed MUST NOT be broken:
For this boon period, your character gets a boon if they have a minimum of 1000 words written for BOTH events, either as a narrative or threaded, of the harps playing their songs (smashing not required!) and if they took part in defrosting.
Feel free to link to any threads (completed or ongoing) that will show your character getting involved in this event period: only actual participation (not referenced participation) will warrant a boon. As a reminder, quest logs are no longer eligible, increased wordcount or not, and participation in both events is required for boon eligibility!

They will be approved, altered or denied here until 24th APRIL (00:01am LONDON GMT; we've extended it a day!) so that when your character receives their boon on the morning of 25th (you can pick any time for them to be delivered/show up) no matter where they are there is no fuss, no muss!
2) "You may not request another's true love or devotion!"
3) "Ask not for a road home or the loved ones whence you came!"

BOON REQUEST: "Your Majesties, I know the last time you offered me reward for my service, I asked you to maintain the stability of my world. I thank you for that, but the field has changed and I have tasted bitter defeat. Our enemy brings greater force, force that knows me, to fight under their banner. I will not stand less than I am before that foe. I am the King of Knights, Arturia Pendragon, and I wield Excalibur. I ask for what is rightfully mine, forged for and given for the protection of my world. And thus, Allaidh Darach."
POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS: I can't think of anything else I want, and I'd really like Excalibur not to be powered down (well, no more than it is in Heaven's Feel Route since new canon recently given to us has made it like ZOMG powerful for when the time is right when aliens attack the planet or something that's ridiculous) given using it in Excaliblast form (as opposed to Vortigen form) is a huge decision for her that she doesn't make lightly.

It is considered to be among the greatest of Noble Phantasms, with its speed, attack power, and reach upon being activated surpassing and remaining unrivaled by all others. In terms of competing against others in pure power, only Ea is able to match and surpass it. The speed required for activation is less than a second, slightly surpassing the speed of the charge of Via Expugnatio. It requires a sufficient amount of distance between her and the enemy, and the farther the distance of the opponent increases its effectiveness. Once something is struck by it, no human magecraft of any kind can match it. Both hands are needed to use the attack, so losing access to her hands means being unable to use the ability. After the tendon in her left hand is severed by Gae Buidhe, making it impossible to move her thumb or exert enough strength to grip the sword hilt, it is reflected upon changing Excalibur's status to Anti-Unit.
It ranks as an Anti-Fortress Noble Phantasm due to its magnitude and destructive power, far surpassing Anti-Unit and Anti-Army Noble Phantasms. She generally attempts to aim it into the sky due to its destructive power, able to incinerate an entire military cohort of one thousand soldiers and turn the ground into scorched earth and leave a great disorder in land that would never fade. Briefly touching the ground against Rider, it leaves molten asphalt and burns away a forest, and used against Berserker in the Einzbern Forest, it leaves a large enough crater deep into the forest that can easily fit two people. When launched into the sky, it can be seen from far around, even cutting into the clouds. It also quickly incinerates the Gigantic Horror, capable of instantly regenerating without damage under the constant assault of four Servants, by annihilating every single atom of its flesh.
The magical energy consumption is extremely high, leaving her exhausted after usage, and it cannot normally be fired consecutively. Releasing the sword where others can view it will allow others to instantly figure out her identity. This requires her to use it only as a last resort, compared to the weaker but easier to use Invisible Air. As her opponents are the size of humans, its size and energy cost can be considered somewhat unnecessary when compared to those with the cost and efficiency to use just enough power to kill the opponent. If used without enough energy or a Master to actively replenish her, it can cause her to instantly fade away upon usage. When used while weakened by her connection with Shirou, she can only activate it once before she is almost out of energy, while she can use it more times upon retrieving Avalon. It is possible to activate it without sufficient energy, but the resulting Excalibur will be weakened. When used in Night Without Dawn, she fails to defeat Berserker, likely barely able to take off even two lives before instantly fading away compared to the full powered version that could potentially kill him outright.
Its destructive power can also be a negative trait that limits its usage, as it can easily damage the surrounding area and kill a large number of people if used under the wrong conditions. This trait makes it impossible for her to use it against Archer during Fate/hollow ataraxia due to the great risk of destroying the Center Building and numerous buildings around it to reach him. She can somewhat control the output with precise calibration, but it is still easily capable of completely destroying Fuyuki's church while holding back energy to minimize collateral damage. It is possible to limit its destructive power if the opponent focuses on close-range combat. and it cannot be used against opponents who fight at extremely close range, such as Assassin, who could cut off her head with Tsubame Gaeshi the instant she began to gather energy into her sword.

Black Excalibur (黒エクスカリバー, Kuro Ekusukaribā?), or Excalibur Morgan: Sword of Promised Victory is the form Excalibur takes after being corrupted by evil. Just as the fairies of the Lake, Vivian and Morgana, can coexist as polar opposites embodying good and evil, Excalibur can also hold a dual existence of good and evil. Due to its nature as a "sword that amplifies", it is blackened when Saber is blackened by Angra Mainyu, reflecting her inner feelings and corrupted nature as "Saber Alter."
Becoming the "Black Sword of Ultimate Light", it is no longer sheathed in Invisible Air and takes on a different appearance. Rather than creating an almighty slash at the tip of the sword, Excalibur gathers a large amount of prana to cover the sword in a black light with the same shape. It matters not if it is filled with good or stained by evil, as the fact that it is the strongest holy sword does not change. It can either be used to attack as a blazing black flame in a similar fashion to the regular Excalibur or, as shown in Fate/unlimited codes, swung like a sword in an upward arc multiple times as a technique named Vortigern: Hammer of the Vile King. Due to the corruption and the enormous amount of prana received from Sakura Matou, Saber can fire this version of Excalibur without limit.
There unfortunately isn't a write-up yet about the Anti-Type 'true form' of Excalibur give to us in the recently released Garden of Avalon canon material, but basically it becomes the ultimate weapon of the planet that can defend it against alien invasions (the Types). It's a ridiculous power level that only gets activated when the Types attack or something. *shakes head at Type-Moon canon*
I would also like to point out that Ea is in Gilgamesh's possession and has been since he was aaccepted with the proposed nerf of being reduced from an Anti-World noble phantasm to act the same as Excalibur.

That said, neither Ea nor Excalibur would be as powerful in scale in the drabwurld as they are in their homeworld; various weapons, artifacts, and even shard power can accomplish roughly the same or greater powers. To use an already overused adage, with great power comes great responsibility: the onus will be on you, and the Gil player, and all those playing characters of great ability in-game to approach pvp situations with due care and consideration for the other party. All those who fall into that category:
+ Don't over-use powerful boons/abilities/powers/etc. as trump cards
+ Don't enter pvp situations without informing the other party in detail of the abilities your character might use
+ Log their agreement on your permissions form
We won't hesitate to strip characters of boons, abilities, or powers if a player is making their employment problematic.

The holy sword given to Arturia by the Lady of the Lake, that is the most well-known of legendary swords and the symbol of King Arthur. Upon Arturia's death, the sword was returned to the lake from which is came from.
It is a weapon that takes the prana of the wielder and converts it into kinetic light energy that allows for the use of divine level thaumatugy to execute an 'ultimate killing technique'. It releases all of Saber's prana in a single strike from the tip of the blade as she swings the golden sword, obliterating everything in its path, including raising entire military cohorts. As it takes all her prana to use it, this attack cannot be done repeatedly over and over without resting.
As both Vivian and Morgana, the faeries of the Lake, can coexist, the holy sword has a dual existence of both good and evil, allowed Saber to use it even while corrupted by Angra Manyu. While used as the 'Black Sword of Ultimate Light', it reflects Saber Alter's inner feelings and corrupted nature. When she uses Excalibur while tainted, the light isn't golden but a black deeper than night. She can fire it just like normal Excalibur, or she can keep it contained to the blade itself , extending its size and swinging it in successive arcs in a technique called Vortigern: Hammer of the Vile King. This is her preferred method of using this noble phantasm while tainted. Due to her A++ Mana stat while corrupted, she can use this technique several times in a row if she wished.
